Work on Stalker 2 is once again underway

The community manager for the game world GSC said that the development in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl was resumed. In a Discord post, GSC Game World community representative Mol1t said it “continues” and “work is in progress”.

In February, developers at GSC Game World, the developer of Stalker 2, paused development on their game as the The Russian Federation invaded Ukraine, its home country. Since then, the game was renamed for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl to reflect Ukrainian rather than Russian spelling.

The game’s official Discord closed to new chats in March, following the GSC’s announcement that it would be suspending development on Stalker 2, and reopened just a few days ago. There’s still no indication of how much of Stalker 2’s development is back in motion, or how that will affect the release date of Stalker 2 – which at this point is almost certain to be delayed from its release date. release in decemberand rightly so.

Between that suspension of work and today, rumors circulated that some developers working on Stalker 2 were relocated to Prague, in the neighboring Czech Republic. The Stalker 2 website was also blocked in Russia. (“Petty censorship,” as we called it.)
