Riot’s hero shooter Valorant is getting ready to start episode 4, act 3, next week. At the same time, a new agent will join the Valorant List. Her name is Fade, she’s from Turkey, and she fights with shadow powers. Fade’s abilities involve manipulating a sticky, gooey substance that is apparently “nightmare ink”, which she can use to recognize enemies, limit their movement, and impair their vision.
Here’s Riot’s description of Fade’s powers, which you can see in action in the gameplay trailer above.
E — Haunt: Equip a nightmare entity. Shoot to throw the orb which will fall to the ground after a certain amount of time. Upon hitting the ground, the orb will transform into a nightmarish entity that will reveal the location of captured enemies in its line of sight. Enemies can destroy this entity. Reuse the ability to drop the projectile at the start of the flight.
Q — Apprehend: Equip a Nightmare Ink Orb. Shoot to throw the orb which will fall to the ground after a certain amount of time. Upon reaching the ground, the ink will explode and create a zone in which enemies trapped in it cannot escape the zone by normal means. Reuse the ability to drop the projectile at the start of the flight.
C — Prowler: Equip a Prowler. The fire will send the Prowler out, causing it to travel in a straight line. The Prowler will lock onto any enemy or trail in its cone of front vision and chase them, targeting them if it catches up with them. Hold the fire button to direct the Prowler towards your aim.
X — Nightfall: Equip the power of Fear. Fire to send a nightmarish energy wave that can go through walls. The energy creates a trail for the opponent, as well as deafening and decaying them.
We still don’t know how Fade feels about the NFTs, unlike Killjoy, whose interest in them was declared a ‘whoopsie’ by Riot.
