The tug of war RTS Warpips is a bit of casual and cute carnage

Warpips, Skirmish Mode Games’ fast-paced casual strategy tug-of-war hybrid tower defense thing, has finally been released. After a year in Early Access, warpips it’s now 1.0 with a major update adding all sorts of new units to the fight.

If you haven’t seen it yet, Warpips is a simple yet deep type of game where you take a list of weapons and abilities into battle and then use your ever-increasing resources to try and destroy the enemy’s command center with waves of attackers. . Meanwhile, you yourself want to defend yourself from the waves of the enemy: it is a balance, a tug of war, between two sides that requires careful time from you.

However, it’s still a game you can play in 20 minutes and leave satisfied. A snack if you like – although you can still eat the whole box and burn through a campaign in a few hours of fun. I found Warpips to be a great game for when you want to play strategy but don’t have enough brains to boot a full-scale spreadsheet monster from a game.

You can find Warpips on Steam for $12, though it’s 60% off until May 5th, which is an excellent price for what Warpips has to offer.
