SpaceX allegedly paid $250,000 to cover up Elon Musk’s sexual misconduct allegation

ONE Business Insider article published today claims a SpaceX hired flight attendant was paid $250,000 by the company to keep quiet after she reported that Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk exposed his penis and made a proposal to her during an in-flight massage. .

The flight attendant herself is reportedly under a confidentiality agreement. The story and related documents were brought to Business Insider by a friend of the flight attendant, who did not sign an NDA. The friend told the publication that she “felt a responsibility to speak up” about an abuse of power.

Musk told Business Insider that there is “a lot more to this story” and called it a “politically motivated piece of success”. He also denied the allegation indirectly, noting that this is the first sexual misconduct complaint brought against him in his 30-year career (it is the first public allegation that we are aware of), and implying that something would have come out sooner had it been behavior to which he is inclined. He did not respond to a request for additional comment, says Business Insider.

The alleged incident took place in 2016 on a SpaceX corporate jet bound for London. The flight attendant was a hired cabin crew member who, according to her friend, had been encouraged to become a licensed masseuse after getting the job, and she did. She was giving Musk a massage in his room at his request when the friend alleges he “tore off his penis”, touched the attendant’s thigh and “offered to buy her a horse if she ‘does more’, referring to him to the performance of sexual acts.

The friend’s testimony goes on to say that, after refusing the proposal, the commissioner had her shifts reduced. The attendant then hired a lawyer and sent a complaint to SpaceX’s human resources department, which would have been resolved with a mediator rather than going to court. The flight attendant agreed to a compensation payment of $250,000 on the condition that she did not sue and sign an NDA, her friend says.

SpaceX vice president of legal counsel Christopher Cardaci told Business Insider he would not comment on “no settlement agreement”. PC Gamer asked SpaceX if it has anything else to say about the report.

We recently covered news related to Musk as he is in the process of purchasing Twitter, which is where a lot of gaming industry news and fan conversations take place. As the founder and CEO of SpaceX, he is also relevant to our general interest in space and space-related games such as Starfield, which was directly inspired by the company.
