Call of Duty: Vanguard is a game set during World War II. I’m no veteran, but I’m pretty sure the army wasn’t equipped with Cerberus-adorned weapons. However, historical accuracy hasn’t been at the forefront of a Call of Duty game for a second. So screw it, dog gun. Dog gun that you can pet.
The Armaguerra 43 SMG was added to the game shortly after Pacific Season 2′s, with last week introducing the Hell Hounds skin (thanks, PCGamesN). It’s a very sweet skin, with a golden zombified cerberus engraving on the side and the three-headed good boy perched on top. It couldn’t have been a tidbit last week, but now an update lets you give the handsome guys a little scratch behind the ears while recharging.
It’s a slightly edgy animation, but there are some satisfying head-slapping sounds from the right dog. I’m a little worried that the middle dog isn’t getting love, especially considering he’s the only one with a barrel sticking out of his throat. Slightly aside, it’s a cool unique animation to add to the skin, even if it has some select players lamenting the capricious direction Call of Duty is taking. What I mean to say, Snoop Dogg is now a playable character and it all. Wild.

Activision Blizzard recently admitted in an annual report that the whole WWII theme might be a little tired. “The game’s WWII setting didn’t resonate with some of our community and we didn’t deliver as much premium game innovation as we would have liked.”
