An ongoing mod called Age of Bannerlords is ambitious, to say the least, turning Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord into an RTS complete with base building, unit production, and resource gathering. At the same time, it retains Bannerlord’s bones, so you can engage in ground-level combat and control your units in a third-person melee.
Modder Bloc has been working on the mod both inside and outside their free team, and the build models are from modder modelers FoozleMcDoozle and Errayn. “All the buildings are created by these two talented guys,” Bloc said.
There are some other fancy features in the mod too, like dynamic market pricing and progression through eras like Age Of games. Much of the Bloc’s work seems to have gone into the AI, teaching the enemy to build their settlements organically, form groups of attacking units, and explore their base with light horses.
The units, of course, are precisely the standard ones you’ll find in the Mount & Blade campaign. Just like the factions – which is cool. There is already a built-in theme and balance for Bloc to work with.
You can find more videos on Block’s YouTubeand you can probably subscribe over there to keep an eye on the mod for when it actually comes out.
