LudoNarraCon, the online convention for story games, returns May 5

Independent publisher Fellow Traveler is bringing back its digital convention to celebrate narrative games this year. LudoNarraCon 2022 will take place from May 5th to 9th and will feature 42 games on display that host live streams on their Steam pages. There will be 33 game demos available, as well as over 100 hours of video and 12 live panels.

Games being featured with demos you can try out include the Card Shark gambling simulator, the coffee chat sequel Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly, the dark tale of survival of the ice ship The Pale Beyond and the village’s cozy herb and harvest grower Witch life story.

One of the games on display, the risky cyberpunk RPG Citizen Sleeper, will launch in full on the first day of LudoNarraCon. This is the game where you play a rogue AI working on the space station show economy that Rachel Watts liked when she Viewed Citizen Sleeper in Octobercalling his writing “incredibly vivid”.

Some highlights from the upcoming panels: one on Innovating the Detective Genre in Narrative Games with Lucas Pope (Return of the Obra Dinn), Mark Brown (Game Maker’s Toolkit on YouTube), Tim Sheinman (Family, Rivals) and Victor Breum (Various Hunts real-life mystery), as well as a panel on The Art of the Twist, with Sam Barlow (Her Story, Telling Lies), Tanya X. Short (Boyfriend Dungeon), Sarah Northway (I Was A Teenage Exocolonist), and Greg Lobanov (Chicory).

If past LudaNarraCons are any basis, we can expect a Steam sale of narrative-rich indie games to take place concurrently with the event. see the Ludo NarraCon website for more information about the panels and exhibitors.
