Deep Rock Galactic (opens in new tab) It’s one of the best co-op shooters released in years and it’s only gotten better since it launched in 2020. After the advent of official mod support last year, DRG had some good ones, but nothing really captured my imagination until this: VRG. (opens in new tab) It’s Deep Rock Galactic in VR.
That’s it. That’s the way. Thank you, creator of the Alch3m1st/Brzeski Productions mod.
It’s a new mod, really, released in open beta last week. As the mod is in beta, “you will find bugs”, says the development team, with emphasis on them. These are presumably in addition to the bugs you’ll already find and photograph in Deep Rock Galactic.
But how does it look? It looks hysterical. The tight tunnels and wildly lit or unlit surroundings of the Deep Rock Galactic mines are wild and downright chaotic. Having gun holsters on your body rather than an easy-to-navigate controller is a very different experience from the base game – fighting for your weapon against the oncoming horde becomes a much more, dare I say it, visceral experience. Plus you can actually throw your flags.
