Destiny 2’s New Duality Dungeon Is A ‘Bold Mind Assault’ From A Corrupt Space Emperor

With Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted (opens in new tab) Now, it’s time for our first look at the newest dungeon to be added to the mix: Duality, a chilling descent into the shattered psyche of exiled Emperor Cabal Calus, where players “will undertake a daring assault on the mind and steal its darkest secrets. “

“The Witness opened his mind to me, and I saw my darkest wish come true,” Calus intones menacingly. “I am the herald. I am the end.”

That sure doesn’t sound right! It’s been a long time since I played Destiny 2 – in fact, when I last looked at it, the Guardians had kicked Calus’ ass and moved on to other things. However, it seems that the great man was perhaps fallen, but not out. So I checked in with some current Destineers on PC Gamer to find out what’s going on.

“Well, the deposed Cabal Emperor Calus has returned from the Void as a servant of the Witness, bringing his worldship Leviathan with him,” explained associate editor Ted Litchfield.

I thought maybe he was kidding me, but UK editor-in-chief Phil Savage quickly chimed in to assure me he wasn’t: “That, basically,” he confirmed.

(Phil also explained to me that it wasn’t actually Calus we fought in Destiny 2’s first attack, but a giant robot that was there as part of some kind of cosmic game show. Destiny 2’s lore is wild.)

The Duality dungeon is live now. Bungie warned on Twitter that there are a few issues players may encounter on the journey, which we hope will be resolved quickly:
