Crafting sequel My Time at Sandrock got off to a strong start

Adorable cartoon creation game My time in Portia (opens in new tab)has an early access sequel, and My time in Sandrock (opens in new tab) seems to have built the reputation of Pathea Games’ first title. according to the site SteamDB (opens in new tab), My Time at Sandrock has already eclipsed My Time at Portia’s all-time concurrent player record, boasting over 18,500 players on its May 26 release day, a solid victory over Portia’s lifetime record of 13,299. Today, on Saturday, the 28th, Sandrock reached the record of 21,778 simultaneous players.

My Time in Sandrock is a sequel of sorts, set in the next town seemingly at the same time as at least some of the events in My Time at Portia. Sandrock, however, is far worse off than Portia. Instead of just a backwater, Sandrock is economically depressed, struggling to succeed in the world.

“After accepting a job offer to become Sandrock’s newest Builder, you’ll arrive in the wild and rugged city-state where it’s up to you and your trusty tools to restore the community to its former glory. Gather resources to build machines, befriend locals and defend Sandrock from monsters – all while saving the city from economic ruin!” reads the official description.

You can find My Time at Sandrock at Early Access on Steam (opens in new tab)where it will likely change and improve a lot over time, just like its predecessor.
