Be a little pachinko playing goblin in Peglin

Peglin is a roguelike with a unique twist: you are a cute goblin and you also fight for the world playing brick breaker pachinko. “Peglin plays as a combination of peggle and kill the spire,” say the developers, and from some time with the game this is… completely correct.

The more pins you hit, the more damage you will do to enemies each round. As you fight your way through the world, you’ll get new orbs to place pegs on, each with their own effect. You also get relics that affect the physics of the world, the types of pegs you find to pop, and the enemies you fight.

So you might have a poltorbgeist, which goes through pegs on its way up. Or the Matryorbshka, which breaks into other smaller balls. There are also more normal things – like a rock or a rubber ball. It’s a deck builder, but instead of a deck you’re building a bag of weird magic balls. (They call these bag builders, in the land of board games.)

Peglin is developed by Red Nexus Games, an independent studio, and will be released on Steam Early Access on April 25, 2022. You can find Peglin on Steam. It has a demo that you can try right away if you want.
