SMTP
Hello
Since using my ISP I have never bothered with smtp.
Soon I will be issuing a weekly newsletter so I'm told I'll need smtp facilities.
Will Outlook Express be OK if I configure it?

Hi Vin.
In order to send out a newsletter using email (which is what SMTP is doing for you) you will need the following:
1) An email account with your ISP or other email service
2) An email program (client) such as Outlook Express, Mozilla Thunderbird, etc.
3) You will need to know your email address, mail server name, and email password.
If you don't have any of those three things you won't be able to send out your newsletter.
I suggest you look at the "Best Free Email Client" category (http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-email-client.htm) as it will give you more information on email programs.
If you don't want to do all that, you can just sign up for a free account with Gmail, Yahoo Mail, or any of the other web-based email services that are out there. With these you won't need to download or configure any programs on your computer because it will all be done through your web browser. Overall it will be easier, but there are limitations, mostly with regard to storage space and file sizes you can email.
I hope this helps.
Joe
