SMTP mailer for batch and other automated jobs, scripts, etc.

I need to be able to recieve emails automatically when batch jobs/scripts or any other scripts run.  I would like it to provide the info in the job if possible saying this ran or these files/folders copied over or moved over.  Any suggestuions would be appreciated.
