Run an ISO without having to burn them onto CD?

Does anyone know how to run an ISO without having to burn them onto CD?
I've been looking for software that could do what I'm looking for, but I can't find anything.

I have not used the others, but just started using daemontools for the first time (it's daemontools lite actually). It's lovely and straghtforward and works a charm!

Pismo File Mount Audit Package - great free ZIP / CFC / CD/DVD IMAGE "mounter" - very small and easy to use!

Its aditional great feature is "PRIVATE FOLDERS" - you can create a password protected&encrypted ".PFO" file.
If you "mount" it with password, your have a normal folder, but if you unmount it it is just a file! Nobody can see
what's in it without a password.

Now i use Alcohol52% FreeWare and load from ::

http://www.free-downloads.net/programs/Alcohol_52__Free_Edition.

it's very work.

but how does it work??

can somebody tell me how does it work?

Get an old version of DaemonTools without the adware. Works 100%.

Also gets rid of the problem with some CDs that you have to have it in the drive to run the app. Some games are like that. DaemonTools fools it and the app thinks it's in a CD drive. Excellent.

Only drawback is of course that you must have the full CD image on your disk permanently. Not a problem with the huge disks we've got now.

Daemon Tools technically is bundled with adware, but you can opt out of all of it in the installer.

Virtual CDROM Control panel if you want to mount the iso.

or use 7zip to open the iso file.

winrar http://www.rarlab.com/ works for me. I find it easier to use than the tools with an optical media legacy (ripping and burning).

winrar not free tho - possible bonus is that winrar can create rar's most others (WinZip, 7Zip etc) will read but not write rar's. That's main reason I have.

with winrar you can only extract data from iso, not create it or "run it".

that's true - but that's all I ever occasionally want to do.

I only use for developer tool downloads from MS, Adobe etc. Winrar's familiar. When I used Daemon Tools I had to think "now how does thing work" and I invariably get it wrong - then I spotted winrar could do iso's so DaemonTools got the flick

MagicDisc is freeware. It is very helpful utility designed for creating and managing virtual CD drives and CD/DVD discs. For anyone who deals with CD-based programs – it is a MUST. MagicDisc allows you to use almost all CD/DVD image without burning them onto CD or DVD in order to easily access your favorite games, music, or software programs ---- It works like a real CD/DVD-ROM: You can run programs, play games, or listen to music from your virtual CD-ROM. Allowing you to run your game images at over 200x faster than from a conventional CD/DVD-ROM. MagicDisc is a powerful utility that uses a unique combination of options to ensure a perfect back-up every time. Partner with MagicISO, Your original games/program discs can be safely stored away, MagicISO mean that you always have your expensive media stored safely as CD/DVD image file on your hard drive, and use them with MagicDisc just like using the original discs. At the office: Program discs and many other applications generally require the original disc to be in the computer's CD-ROM drive. This restricts the amount of people in your office who can have access to the same software at the same time without the cost of additional discs. MagicDisc virtual drives resolve that problem for you. No more hunting around the offices for that elusive disc you need to run your application, everything you require is just a click away.

I HAVE THE MAGIC ISO BUT I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO MAKE A VIRTUAL IMAGE FROM GAME CD AND THEN PLAY THE GAME WITHOUT USING THE ORIGINAL CD.... IT IS CONFUSING.

If your looking to test/run a bootable (live) CD/DVD you can use several Virtual Machine Programs. I use VirtualBox, VMWare Player and Microsoft Virtual PC 2007.

You can check out VirtualBox here -> http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/VirtualBox

You use them all in the same physical machine ?!? Don't they conflict on each other? You must be getting BSOD all the time, not to say that seems to be a complete waste of resources.

Sorry, just noticed your post. I use the Virtual Machine programs for testing bootable CD/DVDs. I mostly use VirtualBox and have very little trouble with it, but once in a while a bootable CD/DVD doesn't like it so I then use the others. Most often I use these for testing custom builds of Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD) and builds of UBCD4Win as well as new Live Linux CD/DVDs prior to burning to media.

As far as BSODs, I haven't had one using these programs for more than a year, although the new versions of Parted Magic (3.0) have caused a crash or 2. Then again, I was aware of possible issues prior to loading the images.

Hey, someone attached a link to my Alcohol 52% suggestion (I bet it was peter), but although there are also trials, there's also a 100% free version fully functional. I'm using it over a year. I'm burning ISO's with Imageburn - you do have other utilities that do this - this is most useful to launch something in a VM without burning a CD, I would say it's also faster and hasle free. They say Daemon has a malware embeded... The correct link is http://www.free-downloads.net/programs/Alcohol_52__Free_Edition. I didn't post it before because I'm having problems with my PC, I couldn't retrieve my Favorites back - yet.

Thanks!
