Need help copying hard drive

i have come across a laptop that dosn't work but the hard drive is still operation. i need a program off the hard drive but it's imbeded in the registry. .how do i get the program off the hard drive and on to a desktop machine. Please help and thanks in adcance

By saying 'it is imbeded(sic) in the registry' you are implying you don't have the original install file or are you meaning more that your settings for said program are in the registry so you need to recover them as well as the program? I'm not sure I am aware of a program that you can only get in your registry as this is just a sort of list of inventory and settings for your system. If you just want to access the hard drive then you can either put it into an external caddy or you can buy a laptop to desktop IDE converter so you can put the laptop hard drive onto your desktop IDE ribbon cable.
