Desktop Icon management

Thanks to yasirmatli for his forum topic asking for desktop management, I managed to find two great softwares that do this.  Desktop Restore and Shock-Desktop.  My favourite is the 'Shock-Desktop', not only does it manage but arranges the icons in shapes as well across your desktop.  As these two did such a great job I thought it was worthy as a HOT FIND.

What I shall wait for is more to be added to this article as I am sure you may have your favourites.

Here's a comment I received by email from Curt, a site vistor:

"I was looking for a simple free program to keep icons arranged on a Windows XP desktop and also restore a desktop arrangement. I don't see anything like this on Gizmos List / the Tech Support Alert site. I found a program call Icon Restore that looks good to me:

I've had problems with shockdesktop where the profile gets destroyed

Not sure why that is, are you saving your profiles outside the program file? Try saving the profile outside the program file in MY DOCUMENTS. That may cure it, I haven't had that problem, but with all software there are always gliches on different computers. If it doesn't work then you will have to contact shockdesktop

Just to add another find
