Copy Folder Names Into Text...?
Hi folks,
I'm tying to catalogue the music on my computer and am looking for a free program that will copy the names of folders and paste them into a text file, ie I have a folder with way to many sub folders in it. What I would like is a file that will take the name of every folder and copy them to a text file/word document for me.
I'm trying to avoid a program which catalogues the files as many of them are down as 'Track 01', 'Track 02' etc.
Any help would be appreciated,
John

THANKS #2
It's work great.
FileLister homepage: [http://thd.dyndns.org/s_filelister.php]
open a command prompt, navigate to your music folder, then type
dir /b /ad > list.txt
then open list.txt with notepad. simple!
THANKS
It's work great.
While Media monkey looks like a great player/converter that I will have a look at later, espically as it supports .FLAC files, FileLister did exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks for you suggestions
John
Try Karen's Directory Printer or FileLister 3.0
Both are free but you must configure them to do the job you want.
Why not use Media Monkey?
It is a catalog program but I'm pretty sure that once you've tried it, you'll understand its attraction. In the case of "Track 1" etc. you can use its inbuilt web-based facilities to automatically change "Track 1" into the correct "Title" and retag the file. It can then automatically change the filename on the hard disk into whatever format you wish.
