Avira Antivirus versions

Hello one and all.

Just a quick question that I'm hoping someone can put me right on...

A couple of months ago I tried the Avira AntiVir freebie, and more recently the premium suite.

Both versions, after only a couple of  weeks, began to fail loading the 'update scheduler', hence no updates either manual or auto'.

I've even tried using a previous 'ghost' snapshot of the harddrive when the programe was okay but still no 'update scheduler'....

Has anyone else had this problem and/or knows of an answer?
